Spanish Homestay with School Immersion

Spend a few weeks with a Spanish host family and go to school in Spain! 

Experience life in Spain like a local student! Our short-term school immersion program combines the daily life of a Spanish high school student with the warmth of living in a host family. This unique opportunity allows international students to improve their Spanish, make new friends, and discover Spanish culture from the insiden, not as a tourist.

Students can join the program for 4 to 12 weeks. During this time, they attend classes at a local school from Monday to Friday, share meals and activities with their host family, and participate in everyday routines that build long-lasting memories and connections.

This program is ideal for those who want to:

• Strengthen their Spanish language skills through real-life practice.
• Gain first-hand knowledge of the Spanish education system.
• Discover the traditions and lifestyle of Spanish teenagers.

Participation depends on acceptance into a Spanish school:

• Grade 10: recommended start in September or January.
• Grades 11 & 12: start in September only.

Program Highlights

• ​Runs during the Spanish academic year (September to June), not during the summer months.
• Placement in a private Spanish school: students may attend with a host sibling, a neighbor, or another local contact (placement in the same class or school is not always guaranteed).
• Continuous support from a carefully selected host family and a local coordinator.
• Airport transfers provided at both arrival and departure.
  
• Placement possible anywhere around the country (no location choice).

Your host family in Spain

As part of the Homestay and School Immersion program, students live with carefully selected Spanish host families (all meals included). 

Host families come in many forms: from traditional households with children to single parents, retired couples, or even teachers who enjoy welcoming international students. Each offers a warm environment and a genuine window into Spanish daily life.

Placements are made thoughtfully, and in some cases students may share the experience with another participant, adding an extra cultural dimension.

To make the most of the program, students should remain open-minded, as placements can be anywhere in Spain. Spanish families are eager to share their culture and equally curious to learn about yours, making this a true two-way exchange.

• Private school tuition fees (placement in a private school available upon request)

• School-related expenses such as transport, books, or uniforms (if required)

• Mandatory insurances: medical, liability, and repatriation coverage
  

This program does not provide academic credit. To participate, students must be between 13 and 17 years old and have completed at least one year of Spanish language study.

Candidates should also demonstrate an open and adaptable mindset, genuine interest in engaging with their host family and local culture, and the maturity needed to adjust smoothly to a new environment.
